*Cries for immediate Government intervention and action against the rapist
EBONYI-The menace of headsmen in Ebonyi state seem to be gaining prominence as no day passes without one or more fearful stories coming out of the state known for Agriculture before now.
Daily Watch Investigations in the State confirmed the raping of a 14 year old JSS three pupil of Union Secondary School by a Fulani headsman on Monday
The incident which occurred at Umuefi Community of Anioma –Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state till date is still keeping tongues wagging all over the Community and Ebonyi state in general.
According to the young girl in the thick of the rape saga the Fulani headsman attacked her in the farm where she went to get vegetables for her parents only to be accosted by the headsman who asked to sleep with her for a fee of 700 naira and when he got turned down resorted to threats of killing the girl if she doesn’t consent to his request and forced he with Dangerous weapon to have sex with her thereby breaking the young lass Virginity in the rape.
In the words of the JSS three pupil known as Favour ‘’ The headsman accosted me on our farm where I want to source for vegetable for my mother to prepare food for us and asked to sleep with me for a payment of 700 naira to which I vehemently refused and this made him go violent and pursued me with cutlass and other dangerous weapons until he caught up with me and raped me several times’’.
The young Favour who spoke with Daily Watch almost in tears called on the Ebonyi state government to as a matter of urgency punish the headsman that raped her and also look for ways to tame and check others who have become laws unto themselves in the farms all over Ebonyi state.
Daily Watch Spoke with the Chairman of the Community Festus Noachukwu who not only confirmed the rape of the 14 year old Favour by the headsman but also complained about the diverse atrocities and attacks on the people of the community by the several headsmen that has now taken over the whole of Umuefi community of Anioma-Isu.
Daily Watch also reached out to the PRO of the Ebonyi state Police command Ms Lovett Odah who told Daily Watch that she has not been briefed of any such issue by the Divisional Police officer in that locality of any such evil by the so called headsman.
