Akwa Ibom Government has commended the pivotal role of the Ministry of Economic Development in setting the pace for sustained economic development through capital budgeting functions and the provision of State Fiscal Framework based on appropriate economic policies, realistic macroeconomic assumptions, social and economic indices for development of the State.
Akwa Ibom Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel made the commendation during a 1-day Public Consultation on 2023 – 2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal strategy paper for Akwa Ibom State in Uyo.
The governor was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo said the development provides the estimates and assumptions that underlie the annual budgets preparation while It is designed to ensure realistic fiscal outcomes, macroeconomic stability, improved allocative efficiency and efficient budgetary allocation for line MDAs to the benefits of the entire citizens of our state.
He further advice the Ministry to come out with an economic blueprint to consolidate and sustain the gains of the present administration for the future benefits of the people.
The governor said the pursuance of the Eight Point completion Agenda of his Administration remains sacrosanct. Already they have done exceedingly well in the areas of Aviation, Agriculture, Industrialization, Sea and Land Infrastructure and these constitute the foundation for sustained human progress and the future growth and development of the state.
The Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Linus Nkan commended government support of the program and believe the Ministry would continue to work hard for a successful budgetary for the benefit of the state.
He said despite the development commended government over the improvement of facilities at Ibom Specialist Hospital and Commissioning of commodities Market Square at Ibom Tropicana Building and Establishment of Primary Healthcare Management Board and attendant improvement in Primary Healthcare services in the state.
Our correspondent report that stakeholders came out massively during the program and contribute, deliberate vital issues about the budget of the state to succeed and benefit the citizens and the state at large while tremendous lectures was given to clarify successful budget.
