Gov Emmanuel charges FRSC on integrity, discipline in service delivery

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has charged the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to maintain a high level of integrity and discipline in service delivery to ensure the safety of road users in the state.



Governor Emmanuel gave the charge during the inauguration of the newly constructed State Headquarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps, in Uyo.


The Governor while commending the quality services of the Corps in the state called on other agencies to borrow a leave from the Federal Road Safety Corps, emphasizing that through diligent service and commitment to their duties, the corps has encouraged safety among road users.


Hear him, “we had so many people then in the Road Safety; people of impeccable character and integrity that were after the safety of the road users. So I still want to believe that it’s still the same Road Safety Corps under your watch. Do everything humanly possible for them to still maintain that, because it added a whole lot to the integrity of that Service, So I just want to see the Corps continuing in that direction”.


Governor Emmanuel who sued for high level of professionalism of the Corps towards achieving safety especially during the yuletide season.


Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safety, the Governor said, the decision to increase the fleet of Ibom Air with new aircrafts, in spite of high cost, shows that safety is top priority of the State Government.


According to him, the government is building a commercially viable economy that will guarantee a sustain democracy with the believe that, without a strong economy no democracy can thrive.

“we are building a viable economy because we believe if we don’t build a strong economy, our democracy cannot stand”.


Earlier, the Corps Marshal and Chairman Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Mallam Burkhari Bello, in his remark described the inauguration of the new office complex RS6.3, Akwa Ibom State Sector Command as a landmark achievement and a blessing to the State, and the nation at large.


The Chairman thanked the Federal Government, Akwa Ibom State Government and other relevant stakeholders for their support stating that the new office will put an end to resultant effect of operating from a rented accommodation which affects service delivery of the Corps.
