Teachers Without Borders, a USA based non governmental organization with branches all over the world has  presented International Public Service Award to the Executive Secretary Bayelsa State Higher Education Students Loan Board, Hon.(Dr.) Michael Amaegberi in a well attended ceremony at the conference hall of the board located at Okaka Housing Estate in Yenagoa.
The Executive Director Teachers Without Borders Bayelsa State Office and Coordinator South South Zone, Hon. Philip Jeremiah Eke said the choice of Dr. Amaegberi for the award was informed by his discipline leadership style, integrity, people oriented philanthropist policy intervention in education , health , safety and environment, socio-economic cultural blue-prints, respect for the rule of law, accountability, courageous and pragmatic leadership posture.
Hon.Philip Eke noted that Teachers are voluntary educators with the main focus to improve educational development via the provision of computers, teaching and learning materials, payment of tuition fees to indigent pupils and students, rehabilitation and construction of school buildings, development of libraries in conjunction with strategic partnership with local, state and federal  government, NDDC, Oil companies, UNICEF, NIPOST, Inter American Dialogue, World Bank, Bangladesh Rural  Advancement Committee, Universal Peace Federation among others.
He said Teachers Without Borders is proud to be associated with the Executive Secretary for the transparent manner he has conducted the affairs of the board that have ensured seamless payment of students loan application.
Hon.Philip Eke said the Executive Secretary has used his vantage position to touch the lives of students positively and have carved a niche for himself, the board , as a committed public spirited progressive minded focused leader.
Mrs.Tonbra Emmanuel decorated the awardee with the emblem while Mr. Nelson formally presented the plaque of the award to Dr. Amaegberi.
In his acceptance speech, the award recipient expressed gratitude to God for identifying him through Teachers Without Borders for bestowing on him the award.
He hinted that former governor Henry Seriake Dickson appointed him to serve Bayelsans and ensure that those attending various higher institutions of learning lacking money to pay school fees have a platform to access funds, stressing that the board has come to the rescue of such students.
The Executive Secretary informed that the board has waved some of the conditions for eligibility for guarantors as a measure to accommodate all applicants to benefit.
He said the board have processed and paid over two thousand students school fees in different universities.
Dr. Amaegberi noted that the joy of the board is to make families happy.
He dedicated the award to God and all Bayelsa Students., emphasizing that the award is a challenge to the board to do more.
He promised on behalf of the board to support Teachers Without Borders achieved set goals.
Ebido Lucky, the PRO of Teachers Without Borders gave a solidarity message and described the awardee as a brilliant, transparent, resourceful and result oriented leader that have brought succour to financially depressed students.
Prince Ekaunkumo Amgbare while presenting the vote of thanks commended Dr. Amaegberi for accepting the award and thanked him for the warm reception accorded the entourage and urged him no to relent on his efforts to manage the board effectively for better service delivery.
Dignitaries present at award presentation include the Head of Administration of the board, Mrs. Asemota, Director Social Media among others.
