Ezekiel Wikimor: Why we will fight for justice fiercely over our son’s extra-judicial murder by vigilante, police-family

The family of Mr. Ezekiel Wikimor who was shot death by a vigilante in Bomadi has vowed to seek for redress for justice to appease the extra-judicial murder of their son.

Speaking with Daily Watch reporter on behalf of the family today in Bomadi who went to the area on fact finding mission on the death of Mr.Adobo Wikimor that was shot death by a trigger happy vigilante in connivance  with the police in Bomadi.

His words, ‘‘ The family of late Ezekiel Wikimor has told the police in Bomadi to get the killers of son arrested immediately and prosecute him for justice to prevail before 24 hours ultimatum expiration. We are law abiding citizens and will not want to take laws into our hands on revenge mission. But e will go to court nd seek redress for the extra-judicial murder of our son.

‘‘The vigilante shot our son death and told police that he struggled with him during attempt to arrest him and his exploded which killed him. What a nonsense tale. The Bomadi Police has compromised and allowed the trigger-happy vigilante walking freely on the streets.

‘‘ Instead of detaining the killer, the police joined the vigilantes and started raiding suspected cultists and detained them in the town and later granted them bail with the sum of N20,000 and N25, 000 each respectively. Over ten youths were arrested and granted bail with such huge sum. The police in Bomadi later turned the scenario to a conduit pipe on bail deal’’ he said.

He accused the police and the vigilante of extra-judicial of his brother Mr. Ezekiel Wizimor and  appealed to the inspector general of Police to intervene by ordering the immediate arrest of the killer vigilante and other policemen in Bomadi who connived in the extra-judicial murder and prosecute them to teach others as a deterrent.

The chairman of Bomadi Local Government area, Hon. William Angandi confirmed the killing of the youth by the vigilante. But said he was not privy to the circumstances of his death whether killed through accidental discharge or murdered.

He said that the army, police, civil defense and council are working out modalities to stem down high wave of violent crimes, cultism  in the council area.
