The newly appointed special adviser to the President on Niger Delta affairs and presidential amnesty programme Dr. Dennis Otuaro with jubilation at the venue of the Niger Delta stakeholders meeting in Warri, Delta State.
The PAP chairman, Dr. Otuaro assured the ex-agitators of getting all their benefits due to them.
He said” I am not just chairman of the amnesty programme and eye of Mr. President. I am part of you. Your problems are mine. I am here to interface with you to know the various challenges you face in the programme, so that the office will solve them all.
” The programme has impacted so much on youths in Niger Delta and I will maintain the trend or do more than my predecessors. Many have been trained on vocational skill and both educational qualifications in various fields and are gainfully employed. Mr. President will do more to ensure peace and stability continue to reign in Niger Delta.” He said.
Ex-agitators, Gen. Pastor Wilson Reuben, General Ezekiel Akpasibeowei, Boro Opudu, Comrade Austin Ozobo, President of Ijaw publishers Forum and many speakers during the stakeholders meeting have expressed confidence and joy for the emmergence of Dr. Dennis Otuaro as PAP boss.
They however, described the appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro as the chairman of the presidential amnesty programme as a round peg in a round hole. They thanked President Bola Tinubu for the choice of one of their own who was also in the Niger Delta intellectual agitation for a fair deal as head of amnesty programme from Delta state.
They appealed to the new PAP chairman to bring his expertise to the programme to enable the beneficiaries sing a new song of joy.
The ex-agitators also passed vote of confidence on the new PAP boss, Dr. Dennis Otuaro and expressed their readiness to cooperate and work with him.
