Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has affirmed that the recently graduated Medical students from the institution are of world class standard.
EKSU college of Medicine recently produced it’s first set of medical doctors after about ten years due to delay in accreditation of the college by relevant regulatory bodies.
The provost of EKSU College of Medicine, Professor Kehinde Oluwadiya who stated this during a news conference in Ado Ekiti noted that the medical doctors have been well groomed and could compete with their counterparts globally.
He noted that the college had set up an advisory committee to ensure that the current standard in the college was maintained towards giving room for the success of future accreditation.
“we are proud of our product, they are not half baked but well groomed medical doctors who are expected to make impact in the medical field he said”.
According to the provosts, the students had hundred percent passes and a distinction in surgery in the final examination.
Overall, there were seven distinctions recorded by the graduating students in all the four professional examinations sat for.
He explained that the medical doctors would be properly inducted on Monday to be preceded by an induction lecture titled legal and Ethnical Issues in Medical Practice which would be delivered by a professor of Pathology Williams Odesanmi.
The induction ceremony is expected to be declared open by the Governor of Ekiti State Dr kayode Fayemi and attended by dignitaries across the country.
Professor Oluwadiya thanked Governor Fayemi for making the dream of EKSU college of medicine a reality saying that the role of the governor in achieving the accreditation of the college cannot be quantified.
