Comrade Tony Adun(aka Kabaka) a youth activist of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Edo State has chargedĀ  Governor Godwin Obaseki to follow the path of peace to resolve the crisis plaguing the party.

“God forbid that APC lose Edo State in the 2020 governorship election. The blame would be on Governor Godwin Obaseki for the way and manner he is treating loyal party members,” Comrade Adun stated.

He also advised Governor Obaseki to always recall the role that the then governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole(now national chairman of the APC) played in the governorship poll of 2016 by ensuring that he emerged his successor.

Tracing the history of the Edo People’s Movement (EPM), Comrade Adun said that the group is a child of necessity that came about as a result of the neglect that some aggrieved members of the APC were facing.

“We formed the EPM to act as the banner under which aggrieved and frustrated members of the APC would have a voice as we were being shut out of the affairs of the party.

“If the EPM was not formed when we did by now the APC would have gone into extinction as the neglected members would have defected or resort to other things out of politics.

“One thing that is of concern is that Governor Obaseki is surrounded by bad advisers who instead of cautioning him prefer to sing his praises and seek for his endorsement just to be in his good books.

“Instead of appealing to the aggrieved party members the governor prefers that they are jailed for one flimsy reason or the other. How far can we go with this?

“Now majority of the youths, who contributed in one way or the other to ensure that Obaseki becomes governor of Edo State, have been frustrated into leaving the country in search of greener pastures which resulted in the death of many of them while trying to achieve their aim,” he concluded.
