Barely three months ago, the news space was awashed with the reports of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Interim Management Committee(IMC) massive financial mismanagement.

Your darling Daily Watch investigative team led by the Publisher, Mr. Cletus Opukeme, a UK trained investigative journalist, beamed their crime search light on the commission and exposed large scale of financial mismanagement.

When we started investigations from one top official to the next until finally we ended with the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and supervisory minister of the agency, Senator Godswill Akpabio and took him up on an auto-recorded interview to give him and the commission an opportunity to defend allegations of multi-billion naira scam raised against the commission. The minister never knew where and how this online newspaper could give him a sleepless night since the day he responded to questions with our ace publisher. He waved all allegations with a stroke of the finger tips and attempted to negotiate with the publisher to drop the story of the alleged multi-billion naira fraud in the NDDC.

But to the minister’s surprise, the Publisher turned his request down with a response: “We don’t negotiate investigations with our news clients and we allow our teeming readers to decide the news by themselves whether true or false.”

The minister commended the Daily Watch brand of journalism. After we blew the lid of the massive corruption open. We did not end it there as we assigned few numbers of our investigative team on NDDC. There was consistency on our reportage as well as other Nigerian mainstream newspapers and online ones on NDDC and at a time, both the senate and the House of Representatives’ attention were drawn to the NDDC reported massive looting.

Akpabio allegedly bribed the suspended EFCC boss Mr. Ibrahim Magu and Aso Rock Cabal former leader, late Abba Kayari a whooping sum of N5billon which got the nod of Presidency by approving more money and extension of IMC till December, thereby, making mockery of Daily Watch and other Nigerian media investigations on the fraudulent commission.

The senate waited for Mr. President to act fast. But the presidency pretended to be deaf and dumb, never know about the massive looting in the NDDC IMC under Senator Godswill Akpabio for reasons best known to him.

The nation’s top anti-corruption agencies, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and Independent Corruption Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) all looked the other way.

The action of the Presidency by ratifying and endorsing the corruption in the NDDC disappointed the entire nation. Both the Senate and House of Representatives activated their power of oversight functions by setting up adhoc probe committee.

The Senate Adhoc Committee’s revelation had confirmed Daily Watch’s allegations of multiple corruption against NDDC which the commission had accepted spending N81 billion (eighty one billion naira) on frivolous procurements within six months.

Daily Watch investigations on NDDC put the life of the Publisher and other journalists on danger list in Warri NUJ office as Senator Godswill Akpabio decided to send rogues/assassins police to abduct the Publisher on the 26th May, 2020 and do whatever thing they were instructed to do. God never sleeps, as the rogue police raid of the NUJ Warri office, met his absence at the time of the rival of the unknown killers police. The rogue police who disguised as IGP boys arrested six other journalists compelling them to take them to Daily Watch Publisher’s residence. But they were disappointed as none knew his residence. Till now, the Publisher of Daily Watch lives in hideout in Niger Delta creek as the paid assassins are hell bent on executing their million naira contract for Senator Godswill Akpabio.

But 18th June, 2020, Delta anti-robbery/kidnap police squad SARs in Ughelli Division shot dead seven rogues/assassins policemen from Bayelsa State who came to carry out illegal activities in Delta State. The big question Daily Watch is asking, where are the rogues/assassins that Akpabio claimed to be IGP Police who were to arrest Daily Watch publisher? Who are the rogue/assassin policemen SARS operatives killed in Delta State?

Stay with Daily Watch, your reliable investigative journalists will bring the true identity of the seven Bayelsa Policemen killed by Delta SARS soon.
