Former Meinbutu chairman Comrade, Ebis Moni has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to extend Tompolo’s pipeline contract.
Comrade Ebis Moni pioneer Meinbutu chairman, a defunct armed group which initiated the armed agitation in late 90s after late Isaac Boro, said in a statement, ” I first want to congratulate President Bola Tinubu electoral victory. Mr. President, Tompolo’s pipeline contract is a key project that helps to curb illegal bunkery at all level, both the big and small. It helps to control pollution in Niger Delta and the same time increases oil production and saves the nation’s economy.
” Tompolo pipeline contract carries the jobless youths along with monthly payment so as to reduce the crime rate in the Niger Delta region” he said.
Comrade Ebis Moni, however, noted that Mr. President Bola Tinubu is starting strong by removal of the criminal fuel subsidy which oportuned leaders used to siphone the nation’s treasury into their private coffers. He appealed to Nigerians, Labour unions and other civil society groups to exercise patience and allow President Bola Tinubu to bring his expertise to run the country to salvage the nation from many years of mess.
