* NWA National President Dada Olabode applauds zone B, Warri welders for hard work

The Nigerian Welders Association (NWA) zone B, Delta state has elected a new leadership of the association at the weekend,with over 60% state officials returned unopposed, including the chairman Comrade Odima Oseroghene and others in a free. fair,Peaceful,f and credible poll at the NWA Secretariat, Ekpan Warri in Delta state.
The national President of Nigerian Welders Association Comrade Dada Olabode and other national executive officers of the Nigerian Welders Association were present as observers.
The Electoral committee chairman Comrade Julius Omokare after peaceful voting by accredited voters and counting declared the following as winners.
They include,Chairman Odima Eseroghene (returned unopposed)
Vice chairman Ereoma Sylvester( returned unopposed)
Secretary Monday Usiakpo (returned unopposed)
Treasurer Brown Akemu (returned unopposed)
Financial secretary Frank Otten (keenly contested)
PRO. Sunny Ighereno (keenly contested)
Auditor 1 onoriode ozore (keenly contested)
Auditor 2 Essi Israel (returned unopposed)
Provost Author ikpesan (returned unopposed)
The national President of Nigerian welders association Comrade Dada Olabode thanked God and all contestants as well as their supporters for their peaceful disposition. He commended Zone B,Delta state for their hard work and described the zone as the cradle of welding in Nigeria and Africa, following the outstanding feat during the last international welding competition held in Lagos which Zone B garnered the highest score as winner with prizes.
He urged the newly elected body to run open door policy of transparency and unity to continue to push harder for progress of the union by projecting the interest of the association more than their personal interests.
According to him, he was registered first as a welder of NWA in Warri zone over three decades and today he is the national President of the association which he never dreamt about. He gave God all the glory and tasked the youths to always work harder to achieve success.
In his speech, the chairman who was returned unopposed Comrade Odima Oseroghene in his acceptance speech thanked members for giving him the mantle of leadership. He assured them never to betray the trust reposed on him.
His words ” I want to appreciate members of Nigerian welders association especially zone B for taking out time from their tight schedule to vote for leaders of their choice and for the peaceful conduct in which we have display to the general public which I believe it’s a sign of progress .
Also I want to thank you all for giving me your support all through the electioneering process and I promise that I will never disappoint you.”
As usual, both the winners and losers embraced one another, exchanged greetings in the spirit of good sportsmanship as there was no winner and no vanquished with love and unity to move the body forward.
Meanwhile, the new elected officials would be formally inaugurated and sworn-in on Thursday next week in-line with the NWA constitution.
