Oleh – Motorcycle riders mostly from Igbide Community recently in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State Allegedly looted and vandalized the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association Office, Isoko South chapter.
Confirming the incident, the chairman of the Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association, Isoko South chapter Comrade Kingsley Ojobodo, said that, “We got information from eyewitness that some motorcycle riders led by motorcycle riders from Igbide came to our office that was locked, break into the office, cart away everything which include; generator, 100 plastic chairs, 10 booklets of tickets, 3 office chairs, a brand new android Itel phone and charger”
According to Comrade Ojobodo, they also vandalized the extension of the Association office by binging down the roof and the Nigeria flag in the front of the office, he stated.
He noted that, the motorcycle riders decided to blocked the Ogbemudia road at the yanga market axis saying that they don’t want to buy motorcycle tickets again, stating that the association don’t even know the reason why they are saying they don’t want to buy the tickets again.
He stated that, their findings revealed that majority of the motorcycle riders are from Igbide Community, noting that he wonder why people will come from another community to barricade road in another community in the name of they don’t want to buy tickets. If they have any grievances there are better way to channel it, he said.
He furher said that, when the chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Sir Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo heard the news of the incident and the barricade of the Ogbemudia road, Oleh yanga market axis he quickly responded by calling an emergency security meeting with Oleh and Igbide Community president general and security agents in attendance in order to find a solution to disperse them from the place.
He confirmed to our correspondent that, it took the effort of the security agents to disperse the motorcycle riders and remove the barricade from the road.
At the time of this report the Isoko South chairman of the Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association with other executive members are already on their way to the Divisional Police Station Oleh, to report the incident of the vandalization and looting of their office properties.
The chairman however vow that the perpetuators of the dastard act will be brought to book, noting that they will ensure that security agents do their investigation properly.
He there enjoin motorcycle riders to be law abiding and adhere strictly to the 48 hours curfew declared by the Delta State governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as a result of hoodlums who has hijacked the EndSars protest in the State.
