WARRI- Chief Mike Ekayama Loyibo Foundation Empowerment Programme is set to commence the 2018 annual empowerment of women, youths, artisans and traders in boosting small scale businesses and creating self- sustaining jobs in Tuomo community in Burutu Local Government area of Delta State.
Making this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri yesterday, Chief Mike Loyibo, noted that the empowerment program had been categorized in two segments after series of consultations with various stakeholders who are targeted in the scheme.
He explained that the first category are those traders who are already established but needed some financial support to boost their businesses and also those who requires financial aides to start up any business of their choice in the community.
He stated that the other set of beneficiaries in the empowerment scheme are the women who had been trained in various vocations like tailoring, hairdressing and catering and requires the basic equipment to start up the business so they can start earning a living from the trade.
These category according to him would be provided with necessary equipments such as hair dressings, sewing machines and catering equipment with little cash donation to start up the training they had undergone courtesy of the foundation.
Chief Loyibo categorized the last set to include men who requires self-sustaining tools to fend for their families to which the foundation was providing commercial tricycles otherwise known as Keke Napep, and motorcycles popularly called Okada to them.
He described the empowerment programme slated for tomorrow in Tuomo community, Burutu Council Area, as his little contributions to the development of his people, noting that the initiative had been on in the last seven (7) years with scholarship awards to over fifty-four (54) indigenous students to the university level.
Dignitaries expected at the occasion include; Alaowei Broderick Bozimo former Minister for Police Affairs Chairman of the event, Alabo Graham Douglas, also a former minister of the Federal Republic, Senator James manager, Hon. Justice Francis Fedode Tabai (Rtd).
Others are; Gen. Cletus Emein (Rtd), former military Governor, Gen. John Yeri, former military administrator as well as Members of Representatives from the region, Captains of Industries, Clergies and prominent opinion leaders from various communities across the region.
