An aggrieved business woman, Tracy Shalokpe has urged the Department of Petroleum Resources,DPR to shutdown FUGTA Filling Station in Otokutu Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State for allegedly selling “adulterated fuel” with adjusted metres to members of the public.
Shalokpe made the allegation in a chat with newsmen at the filling station on Thursday.
“I want the world to know and I want the DPR to come to our aid. This FUTGA filling station, they’re selling fuel that is not good for People’s vehicle and people’s generators. That’s what they’re doing.
” As you can see, they’re still selling fuel till now after that they have confirmed that the fuel is not good. They’re still fuel for other people.”
Shalokpe who is from Egini and Ekete Community in Udu Local Government Area claimed she bought five thousand naira(N5,000) fuel from the filling station on Sunday October 6 which badly damaged her Toyota Corolla LE car and her generator.
“So many of the vehicle parts were damaged. Am not a mechanic. The mechanic can explain much better.
” The car is still faulty till now. Till this very moment, they’ve not been able to fix it. But they’ve changed so many things inside. Just now, they’re still taking the car back to the mechanic.”
She said she started experiencing that her vehicle had developed faults as it was jerking.
Shalokpe noted that she took the vehicle to the mechanic where it was checked and discovered that there was water inside the tank of the car.
Shalokpe also noted that there was water inside her generator set.
According to Shalokpe,”I came back. This very boy sitting here was the one who sold the fuel for me and that one at the back.”
Shalokpe pointed out that she came back to the filling station to report the incident but the fuel attendant who sold the fuel to her asked her to wait for the manager whom he claimed was not around.
“At a time, he said I that he was not the manager. So, I explained what happened to him. So, he said he is going to fix the car.
” But my issue here right now is that, he doesn’t want to fix my car for me and the car is badly damaged.
“So, this morning I called him to come and rectify the issue, he refused. He is still insisting that he don’t want to come and fix the car.”
Shalokpe hinted that she called some persons who claimed to be task force, only God knows from where, but they discovered that there was water in the filling station’s underground tank.
Shalokpe said the manager who suddenly surfaced pleaded and promised to settle the matter by taking the car to the mechanic for repairs but failed.
All attempt to hear from the management of the FUTGA filling station proved abortive as nobody was ready to talk to reporters.
