The apex socio-cultural organization of Ijaw Nation, Ijaw National Congress INC said it would blacklist sons and daughters who are thwarting its effort to galvanise support from other ethnic groups within Delta to produce an Ijaw man to govern the State in 2023.
INC, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha stated that It is very sad to know that some unscrupulous persons are being used to thwart the chances of having an Ijaw Governor come 2023. And that it was most painful when these people make statements to portray it as if it was the decision of the Ijaw nation.
The statement emphasized that it was most provocative and despicable to hear such utterances.
It further stated that it was unexpected to hear from the most docile Ijaw persons to come out to declare that it is not the turn of the Ijaws because of pecuniary gains, personal aggrandizement and greed that have lowered themselves before other ethnic nationalities.
“These Ijaw men and women who had been bought to do the spoiler role, are enemies within and are playing the role of Judas, as described in the Holy book.
They will pay for it at the appropriate time”.
“they will regret their actions at the end of the day.
”They believe they are playing politics, but this is a betrayal. And there are consequences,
”Why should the Ijaws always play the second fiddle?” He queried.
The statement further added that victory is sure because God in heaven has endorsed it.
”Just like in the Bible where out of ten spies, seven came with evil reports, and three came with good reports of the promised land, the seven were put to shame.
These unscrupulous, dissident persons playing the spoiler role would be surprised to see the victory come 2023 and will be put to shame.
INC also charged their sons with governorship ambition not to be deterred, distracted under daunting challenges from these dissident anti-Ijaw persons
The statement praised His Excellency, Dr Infanyi Okowa for allowing all aspirants to context on a free and fair ground which demonstrated that the governor is a true democrat and a God-fearing man.
‘We know too well that, His Excellency will not forget in hurry the role the Ijaws played in his first and second tenure elections”. The statement added.
