DBIR drags Kayriott hotel to revenue court for tax evasion

WARRI-The Delta State Board of Internal Revenue,DBIR  on Thursday March 8 allegedly dragged the Management of Kayriott hotel to the Revenue Court in Warri for defaulting in the payment of one hundred and twenty thousand naira tax to the State Government.

The five star hotel is purportedly owned by former member of the Delta State House of Assembly,Hon. Efe Afe which is located at Effurun,Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was learnt that the DBIR in its bid to settle the matter, exonerated the hotel from all fines but insisted that it liquidates its tax debt.

Daily Watch however gathered that the hotel which is is usually patronized by politicians within and outside the State only paid the one hundred and twenty thousand naira tax before the Court in the presence of one Fred Ogbe.

As at the time of filing this report, businesses within the hotel is ongoing.
