The Deputy Chairman of the Bayelsa state COVID-19 Task Force, Dr. Inodu Akpoku, has disclosed that the state has recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total confirmed cases to 128, while active cases stood at 90.
Dr. Akpoku said on the 17th of June, 2020, the State also recorded 15 new cases, while one patient was discharged from the state Covid-19 treatment centre at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Okolobiri.
He made the disclosure in a statement in Yenagoa, said the state also recorded six death cases of the novel Coronavirus.
The Deputy Chairman of the state Covid-19 Taskforce advised Bayelsans to adhere to the recommended Public health advisories to reduce the spread of the disease, particularly wearing of facemask, constant washing of hands alcohol based sanitizer, and avoid public gathering.
