If news coming to Daily Watch is anything to go by, there is going to be a monumental fire outbreak at the offic of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the coming days, following latest revelation by Niger Delta stakeholders of large scale of looting in the commission running to billions of naira.
Why top officials of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the supervisor of the commission and Minister Niger Delta affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio want to set the office ablaze?
Daily Watch reliably gathered, the planned action is intended to cover up monumental looting by destroying vital documents that could aid EFCC probe of financial misdeed, as the new trend in Nigeria to escape probe just like the accountant general office and CAC offices were set ablaze in Abuja.
Already, Presidency had given nod to EFCC to investigate NDDC Interim Management Committee (IMC) following heaps of petitions against the IMC of large scale of financial mismanagement.
A source in NDDC who confided in Daily Watch pleaded not to be menrioned, said, ” You people are doing a good media job. Due to your revelation of financial crimes perpetrated by top board NDDC management, there is plan directed by the Niger Delta minister, Godswil Akpabio to set fire at the main administrative office to destroy vital documents so as to frustrate any probe that may be carried out by EFCC against the IMC of reported massive looting.” Our souce said.
When Daily Watch called one of the key stakeholders Ijaw Interest Advocates,aka Izanzan camp who first revealed the rot in NDDC under the watch of Czec Godswill Akpabio of the massive fraud in NDDC office. The National Coordinator Amb. Yerinmene Salaco said” Akpabio wants cover up his evil financial crimes by frustrating the proposed Economic and financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigation by destroying vital documents that could aid EFCC to the ongoing large scale of financial misappropriation in NDDC.
” I call on Mr. President and Inspector General of Police to arrest Minister of Niger Delta and supervisor of NDDC immediately, if there is any fire outbreak in NDDC office in Port-Harcourt” he said.
