CITN focuses on  govt plan to grow revenue from tax

The chartered institute of taxation of Nigeria (CITN) Akwa Ibom Chapter would focus on Issue that affect government plan to grow revenue from tax and Application of technology to ease tax administration and simplifying the payment system of taxes.

The Chairman, The Chartered  Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom ChapterELDER EDEMEKA UDOSEN stated this in his Address during the 2019 CITN Mandatory Professional Training Programme of the institute in Uyo. The Chairman Said toward this development which is necessary to meet up the target not to affect Government to grow revenue from tax made them have a training programme that would structure their members value for money with focus on quality content, better course delivery and facilitation over the best international practice.

According to him, there would be various topic to be discussed like tapping into untapped informer sector: a way of expanding revenue base in Nigeria and taxes challenges of E-commence of Nigeria. While commended members for their massive Turnout.

The Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Board of Internal Revenue,

Mr. Okon Okon commended the Institute for their professional ability  to focus on issue that affect government to grow revenue from tax while the institute has risen to their responsibilities in proffering policies that Government can leverage upon to increase IGR, yet the expectations remain high.

 

He said chartered Institute of Taxation was chartered by the Federal Government to raise, maintain and regulate the standard of taxation practice amongst its members, while also promoting ethics and efficiency in tax administration and practice.

 

A tax Payer, Mr. Udo Archibong commended the institute for the mandatory professional training programme for their members which would upgrade their professional ability towards the International best Practice over their profession.
