In her bid to fulfill some of her promises to the Constituents of her Ward, a female Legislator in Burutu Legislative Arm, Hon. Gift Gomero has finalized arrangements to donate some Educational Materials to indigent Pupils in Schools located in her Ward.
The Lawmaker disclosed this on Tuesday while answering questions with Daily Watch in Warri, Delta State.
According to her, ” We have a lot as Councillors to do to assuage the sufferings of our people in our own little ways. When I visited some Schools in the rural areas, I almost shed tears as many Pupils go to School in the morning without Books, Uniform and so on.
” I said I must do something in my own capacity to assuage the pains of the Children in those Schools.
” I spoke to the Headmasters and promised to come in to see how I can put a smile on the faces of these School Children who needed one form of help or the other. The Headmasters were so happy on hearing that I would provide some Educational Materials from my meagre Monthly Salary to put a smile on the faces of the School Children. Now, the time has come and I want to redeem my pledge any moment from now. This is the first phase and the second phase is also on the drawing board. ln the second phase, beneficiaries will include aged mothers who are struggling daily to provide for their families, especially widows”, She said.
