Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government, Chief Dr. Julius Takeme, visited Ogulagha community at the weekend for an inspection tour aimed at assessing key development projects.
. The visit focused on evaluating the channels leading to the community’s jetty to determine the feasibility of canalizing the waterway.
Accompanied by a team of council civil engineers , Dr. Takeme spent about an hour inspecting the channel, assessing how it can be dredged to ensure smooth flow and improve accessibility for both social and commercial purposes of the ancient oil rich community.
The channel, if dredged, would help boat drivers and commutters who have faced challenges navigating the area due to sandbags obstructing the channel.
Also, Dr. Takeme inspected an earth road in the community, exploring options for constructing a more reliable route to ease transportation for commuters. He emphasized his administration’s commitment for infrastructure development, assuring the people of Ogulagha that he runs an open-door policy and is dedicated to transforming Burutu Local Government into a modern city.
In response, the Community Chairman, represented by the Vice Chairman, expressed gratitude to Dr. Takeme for his continuous efforts to extend the benefits of good governance to Ogulagha. The Chairman’s visit was warmly welcomed by the community, who praised his transformative vision for the local government.
