Burutu council boss,Takeme bags an award of excellence of good governance

Members of the Common Men Assembly (CMA), led by its Chairman, Dr. Jude Angodideke has presented an Award of Excellence to Dr. Julius Takeme, Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government, Wednesday with an award recognized his outstanding contributions to peace in Burutu council and his continuous service to the people of Burutu in Delta state.

The group lauded Dr. Takeme as a visionary leader and a peace builder dedicated to the development of the local government.

During the award ceremony, Hon. Nathan Tubotu, who spoke on behalf of the CMA, shared the group’s origins. He said that the Common Men Assembly was formed in response to the challenging circumstances members faced while growing up in Burutu.

According to him, “”As they prospered in their various fields, they felt a calling to give back to society, leading to the formation of the group.

“We may be called Common Men, but we are not common—we are here to help the common people in society,” he stated.

Hon. Tubotu also emphasized that Dr. Takeme, known for his unwavering support of the common people, deserved to be recognized for his significant contributions to the welfare of Burutu people.

The CMA further conferred honorary membership on Dr. Julius Takeme, in recognition of his alignment with the group’s mission.

In his response, Dr. Julius Takeme expressed his gratitude for the honour and recognition. He acknowledged the uniqueness of the CMA, a group composed of intellectuals, medical professionals, engineers, and members of the political class who dedicate their time and efforts to community service, pledging to continue working together with the group for the betterment of society.
