The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, State Council, Comrade Michael lkeogwu has admonished the newly married couple, Mr and Mrs Justina Samuel Ogude to build their marriage on love, trust and tolerance just as he tasked them to always seek God’s guidance and protection in order to have a blissful marriage life.
Comrade Ikeogwu made this admonition to the couple over the weekend when he led other J
journalists in the state among whom are the Warri Correspondents’Chapel Chairman, Comrade Okies Vickies and the Secretary, Comrade Dele Fasan to their traditional marriage which took place at Chief Ogedegbe’s of Escravos Compound in Ogedegbe Avenue in Iyara and whose reception was held in front of Dore Numa College, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area Delta State.
He said married couple do not graduate from marriage institution rather, they continue to learn from each other through out their marriage life saying, the ability to tolerate each other and settle disagreement amicably makes all the difference.
He said; ‘ marriage institution.is a complex one, one does not graduate. You will continue to love and tolerate each other, that is only way you can have a blissful marriage’.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief George Owarieta, the Ogbodu of Agbon Kingdom and Chief Executive Officer, Canewood Hotels, Ekpan Warri, said any marriage built on love, trust, tolerance and above all anchored on God will stand the test of time. He however said there are times when there is disagreement but the couple should be able to settle their differences without involving the third party: parents or friends.
He said:” there are situations where there is a disagreement between the couple but they should be able to settle this amicably and forge ahead”
Chief Owarieta admonished the couple to always anchor their marriage on God if they must succeed.
In a short interview, the couple Mr and Mrs Justina Samuel Ogude expressed thanked God for the success of their marriage just as they thanked those who were able to attend the programme despite their busy schedule and short notice of invitation given to them.
They said:” we thank God and those of you who were able to turn up despite your busy schedule and short notice given to you”
Present at the ceremony are members of Christ the Living Church, Warri, teachers of Essi II, Warri, among others.
