Engr. Ben Donyegha, President of the South South Solidarity Movement of Nigeria and member of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has stated that the choice of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi(Minister of Transportation), Godswill Akpabio(Minister of Niger Delta Affairs), Clem Agba(Minister of state Budget and National Planning), Osagie Ehanire(Minister of Health), Timipre Sylva(Minister of State Petroleum Resources) and Festus Keyamo(Minister of State Niger Delta Affairs), is a sign of the good things to come to the people of the South South geopolitical region.
He also praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his visionary leadership which he asserted would help take Nigeria to the next level of development
“The choice of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio, Clem Agba, Osagie Ehanire, Timipre Sylva and Festus Keyamo, all of South South extraction by President Muhammadu Buhari is a sign that the president has a vision of taking the country to the next level by elevating the people of the South South geopolitical region to the pinnacle of good governance.
“Never again will the people of the region be shortchanged of their due especially considering the injection of some of the best brains from the region into the federal cabinet.
“We can conveniently say that the sky is the limit to how far the South South region will go in the aspect of development in line with our God given natural resources,” he emphasised.
He charged the appointees to live up to expectations as “to whom much is given much is expected.”
Going further, he pleaded with the president to retain the services of Professor Charles Quaker Dokubo, the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, for the string of successes he has achieved within the period of his assumption of office which include the establishment of the skills acquisition centre in Gelegele, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
