Breaking: Gunmen Kill Two Vigilante Members in Warri



WARRI -Gunmen have shot dead the Delta State Provost of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, identified as Folorunsho near Odibo Estate in Effurun,Uvwie Local Government Area. While another vigilante member Mr. Moses  was also shot dead at Merogun Community Junction in Warri same day when family members of the Merogun engaged themselves in fierce gun battle over a land  dispute last night of Delta State.

The deceased Mr. Folorunsho who is also the Public Relations Officer of the Vigilante in “A” Division Warri Area was unarmed and alone at the time when the gunmen met him suddenly and opened fire at him.

The incidence, according to eyewitness, the gun men shot their assailant dead and escaped into the thin air. The matter was reported at the Enerhen Police State before the remains of the deceased was deposited in a mortuary during night in Warri, Delta State.

Our reporter in the area said  that the incident had sent fear and cold into the spines of other Vigilante members who are currently mourning their colleague.

The Enerhen Divisional Police Officer,CSP Emmanuel Yakubu declined comment on the matter but a source within the Police Station who craved anonymity confirmed the report.

The Police source described the incident as “unfortunate” noting that they (Police) have spread their drag net in search for the killers of the Vigilante leader.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police,CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim said was not aware of the development as at the we called his office while filing this report.
