ABUJA- The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters in Abuja is reportedly on fire this evening few minutes after 6 pm, Nigerian local time.
Daily Watch gathered that the fire reportedly began in the evening today, few minutes after 6pm Tuesday, May 1. The cause of fire has not been ascertained yet. Effort is going on to put out the fire by team of fire fighters.

Meanwhile, tempers are high as there has been deep financial controversy between the senate and tghe executive arm of the government $462 million withdrawn from the excess crude account. President Muhammadu Buhari wrote a letter to the National Assembly, explaining why he approved the withdrawal of $462 million from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) for the procurement of 12 Super Tucano aircraft from the United States government without getting approval from NASS PAY
However, the letter also exposed false claims by a presidential aide who said Buhari had not ordered the withdrawal of $1 billion from the ECA to procure arms to tackle Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast and that until he got approval from NASS, he would not take such action. The aide made the claim on April 9.
