There is pandemonium in Warri and neighbouring communities in Delta State as parents rushed to pick their wards/ children from schools during the morning before closing hours over rumored infectious vaccination being carried out by the Nigerian Military.
Although, Delta State Government and the commissioner of the Police Delta State have assured parents of the safety of their wards and children as the rumour has no bearing with the vaccination being carried out by the members of the Nigerian Army as part of their corporate social responsibilities with their host communities.

The assurance of safety does not go down well with parents in Delta communities as whatever place the military vaccination team visited, parents stormed the locations, especially schools to take their children away to stop the children from being vaccinated by the military medical department, which mainly made up of young female military personnel.

Virtually all Public and Private Schools in Ugbomro, Jakpa, Effurun , Agbarho, Ughelli Communities have been closed down till further notice, except the military stop its vaccination exercise in schools in Delta. Teachers were not left out as they both have run for their safety in schools, even though nobody was chasing them.

Daily Watch findings are that parents are acting out of ignorance by preventing their ward and kids from being vaccinated by the medical team of the Nigerian Army.

Our findings are that a carefully scripted propaganda was established from the South Eastern part of Nigeria which ran viral in the social media, intended to discredit the Nigerian military.

Daily Watch spoke to many residents in Warri and they towd in almost the same line of reasoning. They said the people of South South and South East have lost credibility of the Nigerian Army which they have seen more of enemies that friends.

They insisted that the Nigerian Military under President Muhammadu Buhari had perfected a clandestine plan to kill the people of Niger Delta and South East to claim the locations.

They became more scared with the recent operation python dance which was commenced in South East over the activities of the IPOB members that resulted in the gruesome killing of several youth.

The fear of the people of the South South became tense, especially when the same military had declared similar crocodile smile 11 in the Niger Delta.

Military authorities have said that the operation crocodile smile 11 is a normal routine military exercise and that people in the region should not be scared. Although, according to the military, people who are afraid of the exercise are only criminals who indulge in kidnapping, illegal bunkering and pipeline vandalism.

But the Delta State Commissioner of Police,CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim in a statement signed by the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka had on Wednesday October 11 assured Deltans that there dispelled rumours that security agencies were engaged in forceful vaccination/injection of school children with suspected substances in neighbouring Anambra State, and are likely to come to schools in Delta State to do so.

CP Ibrahim insisted that there is no cause for alarm as Delta is safe, calm and secure. While reiterating that the rumour is spurious and orchestrated by mischievous elements whose sole aim is to cause unnecessary panic in an otherwise very peaceful and orderly state, CP Ibrahim called on Deltans to disregard the rumours and go about their lawful businesses and assures them that the Command will continually do all within its power to ensure their safety and security at all times.
