Former speaker and acting governor of Bayelsa state RT. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi has formally put in his resignation letter from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following what he described as fraudulent internal democracy
Hon. Ebebi disclosed in a resignation letter addressed to his PDP ward 3 Chairman Aleibiri, Bayelsa state, formally signed by him at the weekend, said ‘‘ I write in respect of the above matter formally use this medium to inform you of the decision to withdraw my membership from the people democratic Party (PDP).
‘‘ I have come to this hard decision after experiencing an enduring excrutiating period of largely fraudulent internal democracy in the state chapter of PDP, disregard and disrespect of due process as entrenched in the PDP constitution and electoral guidelines, high-handedness and desperation of the party’s leadership.
‘‘ The fact that my membership is ending, does not diminish the great political I have enjoyed. I has been absolulely outstanding.
‘‘I most thankful for the opportunities the paty gave to me to serve the state in various capacities. Especially as a two-time speaker of the Bayelsa state house of Assembly and two-time Deputy governor of Bayelsa state, which gave me an outstanding political career development, and enbled me gain an irreplaceble experience in politics.
‘‘ I wish the People Democratic party great success in the futur, and wish the best for each and every member of the party’’ the letter said.
