The Chairman, Waterways and Inland Security Committee of Delta State, Chief Boro Opudu has lauded the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) for fostering Ijaw unity and development.
Opudu commended the body of media executives when they paid him a courtesy call at his office in Warri, on Thursday.
Led by its President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, the IPF hailed Opudu’s input towards maintaining law and order in the state over the years.
The multiple award winning activist noted that the efforts of the likes of Opudu has contributed greatly to the peace and development experienced across the state.
The Publisher of Congress Newspaper further explained that the need for the IPF to collaborate with state actors such as Opudu cannot be over-emphasized, adding that the body will continue to open its doors for effective collaborations.
Reacting, the security expert described the IPF’s move to unite all media practitioners across Ijaw nation towards achieving a collective goal as “commendable.”
“We are open to working with the IPF. My Committee is a sensitive one and needs all positive forms of collaboration for effective service delivery,” Opudu said.
“We will assist you with every necessary support towards ensuring that the goals and objectives of this intellectual body are fulfilled,” he added.
He further declared himself available for the forthcoming inauguration ceremony of the IPF slated for Thursday February 29, 2024.
