Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State was agog as notable personalities within and outside Bayelsa State were presented with peace awards by a reputable non governmental organization (NGO), the Peace Makers including Her Majesty, (Barr.) Josephine Diete-Spiff, wife of His Royal Majesty, King Alfred Diete- Spiff, Chairman Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers’ Council.


The NGO also presented a  Awards to various personalities ranging from the top political class, traditional rulers and business executives within Bayelsa State.


The epoch making event which took place at Aridolf entertainment centre Yenagoa, was spiced with jokes and music by an array of rib-cracking award winning comedians and musicians.


The Project Director-General of the Peace Makers, Comrade Orlando Dominic, in his opening remarks welcome all the personalities who came from far and near, stressing that is was a well thought out concept which was embarked upon four years ago.


Comrade Dominic while stressing the crucial role of peace in achieving desired result in any meaningful society,  tasked youth in Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large to advocate for peace in their action and shun violence.


According  of the peace makers, the  award was presented to Her Majesty Diete-Spiff, who also doubles as the President of Niger Delta Queens  based on her salient contributions in peace building in Bayelsa State and Niger Delta at large and  congratulated her for the Award.


In her response after receiving the award, Her Majesty Spiff thanked God Almighty for the Award, stressing that the it will spur her to do more in contributing to societal development especially by making peace through various methodologies, noting that no meaning development will take place without peacefully co-existence.


She dedicated the unique Award to Brass Kingdom, the Royal Queens of Niger Delta,  Rotary international and other well-meaning groups and organizations.


Also, presented with the Award included, the manager director/chief executive officer of visco communication, House of representatives member, Prof. Steve Azaiki, former Federal Permanent Secretary, Dr. Bolade Igali, Sagbama Branch NBA, chairpetson, Barr. Dise Ogbise, the Ibenanowei of Gbarain Clan, HRH (king) Fupere Akah, wife of the former President, Dr. (Mrs) Patience Jonathan, wife of the governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Rachel Dickson and Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah, former speaker Bayelsa State House of Assembly.


Rt. Hon Isenah who was so excited while receiving the award as peace democrat said he was surprise but thanked God Almighty and moreso, appreciating the   management of the NGO
