*Lyon Commends INEC

It was a celebration galore in ward 9, Kolo Town of former President Goodluck Jonathan local government area as women,youths and elders trooped out celebrating the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
They took over the road leading to Ogbia Town immediately the results of the 13 units in Ward 9 were announced by the electoral officials declaring APC winner of the ward.
Some of them flew the flag of APC while others used their brooms to sweep the road, saying they had suffered under the current PDP government of poverty, no social amenities and no street light in the state capital.
A woman who spoke on condition of anonymity said they were given as much as N10,000 but that they rejected the money because they were united and determined to vote out PDP.
“We are happy because we won the PDP in all the units” one of them, who failed to mention his name out of excitement said.
Also in Epie-Atissa in Yenagoa, residents took over the road jubilating over the defeat of the PDP in the area.
Meanwhile the Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief David Lyon, has described the ongoing election in the state as peaceful.
Lyon, who commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct so far, advised the people to remain peaceful throughout the exercise.
Casting his vote at Olugbobiri Ward 4, Unit 1, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Lyon said he was sure of victory at the end of the poll.
He said: “Today process is very peaceful. I have seen what INEC has been doing all this while. It is going very peacefully and that’s what we are advising everyone to go peacefully and vote
“Go with your card to your units, vote and leave the place, not to come and create problem, but guide your vote that’s what we are telling everybody.
