The Bayelsa State Independent Newspaper Publishers Association (BIPA) has elected a eight man executives to administer it’s affairs in the next three years.
The members in an enlarged congress meeting held at the BIPA Secretariat, Amarata, unanimously elected the publisher of Golden pen newspaper
Chief Evans Tubonah as Chairman, Mr.Francis Dufugha,Vice Chairman, Publisher of Niger Delta Herald newspaper and publisher of Dialogue newspaper Mr. Enebi Sheriff as Secretary.
Earlier in his remarks, the out-going chairman of the association, Chief Union Oyadongha thanked members for their overwhelming support, commitment and dedication to the association, adding that he is delighted to handover the mantle of leadership to a young and vibrant executive.
Chief Oyadongha while appealing to members to extend the same support and cooperation to the new executive, admonished them to work together to take the association to greater heights.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Chief Evans Tubonah appreciated members for finding them worthy to serve the organization, and pledged to reposition the association to forge a common front to achieve set goals.
Chief Tubonah promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor by ensuring that the association regain its pride of place as the poineer newspaper publishers in the state and called on members to join hands with the new executive to move the association forward.
He said that he intends to hold regular interface with relevant stakeholders to enhance a smooth working and mutually beneficial relationship.
