Bayelsa: Gunmen kidnap mother of ex- Super Eagles coach, 2 others

Madam Ogere Siasia, mother of former Super Eagles striker and Coach, Samson Siasia have been adopted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, along side two other close family members.

The two other victims whose names were given as Florence Dounana, age 65, and her daughter Selekere Dounana, age 17, are close family members of the Siasias’.


Our correspondent gathered that  the 76 years old  and the two other victims were adopted at about 2 am, Monday morning from their family home in Odoni, Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa state.


Daily Watch also learnt that Madam Ogere Siasia, was first kidnapped in November 2015 and her released was secured after 12 days.


A closed family member confirmed the development, stating that the incident happened at midnight while she was sleeping at our home town.


He also said he has made several calls back home to know more on recent development s, and will provide same as soon as possible.


According to the Bayelsa state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Asimin Butswat,  on 15 July, 2019 at about 0200hours, unknown gunmen who were heavily armed came through the waterways of the River Nun  and invaded the residence of one Mrs Beauty Siasia, ‘f’ 80 years  in the riverine village  of Odoni, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, and whisking her away through the waterways to an unknown destination.


The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State command and the command’s tactical team has visited the scene of the crime.


The command in collaboration with other security stakeholders have launched manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators and rescue the victim. Investigation is ongoing.
