A stakeholders meeting of the state working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bayelsa State convened by the leadership to decide on the model for the party gubernatorial primaries ended in deadlock.
Recall that the National leadership of All progressive Congress(APC) announced dates for purchase and submission of state candidate ahead of Bayelsa state elections, prompting the state working committee to convene the meeting which ended in deadlock following disagreement over adoption of model for its primary election.
Daily watch gathered that no resolution was reached following the disappearance of the state chairman Mr.Jothan Amos during deliberations.
However, no top member of the state executive committee spoke to newsmen after the meeting but a top source said that the Party adopted the direct primary model.
Responding on the alleged adoption of direct primaries, campaign Director of Engr.Preye Aganaga campaign team Mr.Zuwa Konugha said there was no resolution reached following controversies between stakeholders loyal to former governor chief Timpre Sylva and former minister of Agriculture, Hon.Heineken Lokpobiri.
According to him”let the state executive tell the world what happened at the meeting, until then we don’t have anything to say.”
However calls made to the party chairman, Hon. Jotan Amos to get his reaction was not successful as the time of going to press.
