The permanent secretary, Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Mr. Christopher Ewhrudjakpo
has announced that this month’s State Sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 7am – 10am.
Mr. Christopher Ewhrudjakpo in a statement said there will be strict restriction of human and vehicular movements during the period of the exercise from 7am – 10am.
He also enjoined all Bayelsa people and those living and doing business in the State to comply accordingly by using the period to clean their environment and surroundings as defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.
He said Playing of football, loitering and other sporting activities like jogging, aerobics at the flyover, walking, riding bicycles will not be tolerated during the period of the sanitation exercise.
He warned against the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the median of Isaac Boro Express Way especially PDP junction and Kpansia Market.
He seized the medium also called on those organizing events like weddings and funerals to come for official pass from the Authority.
He Urged the people of the State to support Governor Douye Diri’s vision of a clean and safe environment, Mr. Christopher reiterated that the commitment of Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BESA) in ensuring a clean and healthy State for the citizenry.
