Bayelsa Govt. accuses Alaibe plotting to incite crisis

Chief Timi Alaibe
By Steve Seigha, Yenagoa
The war of words between the former Managing Director of Niger Delta development commission(NDDC) Chief Timi Alaibe and the Bayelsa State Government took a new twist as the Government through the Commissioner for environment, Hon. Ebipade Apiangolo has accused Alaibe of working in concert with some enemies of government to destabilize the peace in the state.
Hon. Apaingolo made the  accusation in statement while reacting to the alleged pulling down the campaign posters belonging to Alaibe in Yenagoa.
According to him, it is regrettable that Alaibe has assumed the unenviable posture to always antagonize every government in power from 1999 till date, adding that he has allowed his blind  ambition and greed for power to override his moral sense of judgement.
He noted that Alaibe’s actions are pointer to the fact that he has a sinister motive to cause confusion, insisting that his rush to erect campaign posters without making payment to the agencies concerned is an outright violation of the laws guiding the construction of campaign posters on billboards.
The commissioner wondered why an aspirant of the PDP who is seeking to govern the state would hastily attack the government and vilify the governor who in his magnanimity graciously readmitted him back to the party he left in 2015.
His words ” by his actions, Alaibe has shown the Nigerian public that he was in the governorship contest with the sinister motive to cause confusion and destabilize the state.
The recent activities of the former NDDC MD has revealed that he was in cahoot with enemies of the government to promote acts of destabilization  against the state.
He says that it was rather regrettable that Alaibe who left the PDP in the build up to the 2015 elections to fight the party, and who was graciously  readmitted in to the party like a prodigal son because of the magnanimity of the governor would rather opt to vilify the governor and his government.
It occupies the unenviable position in Bayelsa as the man whose ambition has made him to fight all governments of the state from inception in 1999 from Alamieyeseigha, to Jonathan, to Sylva, and now Governor Dickson who graciously readmitted him into our party. It is unfortunate that he has allowed himself to be driven by his blind ambition and greed for power.”
