Kinsmen of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Douye Diri in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have vowed to give their son hundred percent votes come November 16 governorship election in the state.
The people made the declaration at Sabagreia and Kaiama when the PDP campaign train of Diri/ Ewhrudjakpo visited the two communities ss part of the campaigns ahead of the governorship poll.
At Sabagrea, the member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency I in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Wisdom Fafi said the people are happy to be associated with an articulate, visionary and an experienced politician as a son of the land and promised not disappoint the PDP by voting massively for the victory of Diri and Ewhrudjakpo come November 26.
The immediate past Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Tonye Isenah while addressing a mammoth crowd of jubilant supporters at Kaiama headquarters of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA appreciated Governor Seriake Dickson for giving Kolokuma/Opokuma people a Speaker, House of Representative member, a Senator and now his successor.
He said that the people of area are resolute and united more than ever before to cast their votes for the victory of the PDP candidate, assuring that the people will no fail Bayelsans.
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson while addressing the crowd at Kaiama thanked the traditional rulers, Chiefs, leaders of the party and the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA for the rousing reception and urged the electorate not to let the PDP down by casting their votes for Sen. Douye Diri.
Dickson said that his administration has built the International Airport and constructed many roads which the Timipre Sylva’s government refused to built, adding that the APC government has not brought any meaning development to Bayelsans.
“I and all leaders of our party are very happy with this large turnout, this is not a campaign but a carnival and I want to thank all of you, I thank all your leaders, caucus chairman, members of the assembly,the immediate past speaker, Tonye Isenah, the chairman, all traditional rulers, commissioners, SAs and you the electorate. I know you people will not let us down.
” we built airport and today Sylva is angry with that and they say they should not give us licence and today they have been abusing us for building airport but he refused to build the airport. They abuse us for building roads? Has he build any roads No! Has APC Federal Government done anything for Kolga? No! Have they done anything for our people? No!”.
In his remarks, the PDP governorship candidate, Sen. Douye Diri said the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA will ever be grateful to Governor Dickson for the love shown to them by giving the people a house o representative member, a Senator and a Governor come November 16.
He advised the people not to give in to the antics of the opposition to cause violence and disrupt the election in the area but rather come out in their numbers and peaceful vote 100 percent for the PDP.
Sen. Diri said that the people are beginning to reap the benefit of the struggles of Adaka Boro as a son of the soil is about to become a governor in few days time.
“To today the Kolokuma/Kolokuma people have resolved that out of the whole struggle of Adaka Boro a first fruit is being nominated for the post of governorship and that they will do nothing but to give 100% to PDP.”
