Ayamasa II community, recently securing automous status from Ayamasa community in Bayelsa State with acceptance into Bomadi LGA of Delta State, will have its Amananaowei (traditional ruler) sworn in December 30, 2023.
The installation of HRH Kemekedoumene Mark Silky as the Amananaowei of Ayamasa II is a major item in the 2023 edition of the 5-day annual festival tagged “Bolouwenemo Oge” (festival) by the original Ayamasa community. The enstoolment of the Amananaowei on the final day of the festival will be enlivened by all-night music from King Freetown Pereama.
The Bolouwenemo Oge commenced since December 26, 2023 with 6 canon shots in the morning. A procession of all women adorned in white attire followed with a subsequent Candle light procession by all persons at 7pm.
A general assembly to discuss progress in the community held on the second day followed by competition in various sports spreading into the other days, namely football, canoe race, sack race, tug-of-war, draft/scrabble while a wrestling contest between Clever Gabriel and Tamaraupreye held on the 3rd day with the Progressive Union of Ayamasa in spectacular celebration.
Lectures and quiz competitions which featured earlier ended with a rally/convention of Ayamasa students body to install a new executive council to run its affairs, closing the fourth day with Ayamasa Federated Communities in Thanksgiving Service.
