Awoniyi joins Mainz as Onyekuru’s Everton move stalls

Nigeria and Liverpool forward,Taiwo Awoniyi has linked up withGerman side, FSV Mainz on a one-year loan deal from Liverpool subject to international clearance and a medical.

Awoniyi joined Liverpool in August 2015 for a fee of around £400,000 but is yet to play an official game for the current European champions.

Meanwhile,Super Eagles forward,Henry Onyekuru’s move to AS Monaco from Everton has been reported to be delayed due to Visa problems.

For several days now, Everton and Monaco have had an agreement worth €13m in place for the ex-Galatasaray loanee’s transfer, with Onyekuru having also agreed to a 5-year contract with the principality side.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Turkish giants,Galatasaray and was part of the Super Eagles team that won bronze at the summer African Cup of Nations.
