President of the Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM), Comrade Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, has challenged the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, to within seven days correct an anomaly he conducted in Benin or face legal action.
He made the challenge in a statement he made available to the media.
“The attention of the Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) has been drawn to a huge anomaly recently committed on Benin soil by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.
“We were reliably informed by authoritative sources that Sirika of Katsina State extraction brought the process of documentation of new staff for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Benin Airport.
“But contrary to the principle of Catchment Area Quota which clearly stipulates that the employment of workers of Grade level 1 – 6 of the organisation should be gotten from the area where the airport is located, only one person out of the large number of people that went through the documentation process is of Edo origin.
“To say that this fraud committed on Benin soil is a taboo to the people whose rich cultural heritage is well protected by the Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, N’Ogidigan, is to state the obvious.
“On this premise, the Benin Solidarity Movement is calling on Hadi Sirika to immediately correct the fraud he has committed on Benin soil and as well seek for the forgiveness of the ancestors through the intervention of Oba Ewuare 11.
“Finally, we are given the Minister 7-working days to reverse this obnoxious employment process or be sued to court for executive fraud.
“As they say, a word is enough for whoever cares to listen,” the statement read.
