Atiku storms Lagos with message of restructuring

Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is expected in Lagos on Monday September 3, 2018 in continuation of his nationwide consultations over his 2019 presidential ambition.

Coordinator of Lagos Atikulated Agenda 2019, Bishop Victor David Enwereuzo, who disclosed this on Monday, stated that while in the state, Atiku would be expounding on his message of restructuring, which he stressed, had been his focal point since he declared interest in the Presidency.

Enwereuzo said the former vice president was concerned over the ways the country was being run, especially the concentration of powers at the centre, hence he had been desiring that the nation was returned on the path of true federation.

Enwereuzo disclosed that the Lagos Atikulated Agenda 2019, had planned a red carpet reception for the former vice president, a presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that members of the pressure group would be at the Lagos airport to welcome him in colours.

He described the Atikulated Agenda 2019, as a vision and pressure group founded by Chief Emeka Kalu, to persuade and convince people to get their Permanent Voter Card (PVCs), and mobilise Nigerians to support the Atiku Presidency for their own good.

Enwereuzo, who said the Atikulated Agenda had 36 chapters in the federation, each under a coordinator,  described Atiku as a tested, experienced, intelligent, proven, successful businessman, who had been creating jobs for Nigerians and had promised to restructure the federation, hence he should be supported to emerge President in the 2019 election.

He said: “With restructuring, we can all develop our states, create jobs, have quality education and bring in expertise, professionals, to develop the regions.

“I have seen university graduates and undergraduates who have been able to manufacture airplane, vehicles. If we have true federalism, the governors of each state would support such people. We may have the rest of the world coming here to see our vision and what we can do.”

He disclosed that while in Lagos, Atiku would meet with his supporters in the state as well as have consultations with the PDP leaders in the state.

He added that efforts had been made to ensure the former vice president’s visit would be a hitch-free visit.

He said that the group had been creating awareness among the people of Lagos for the visit, adding, “I am so glad that various market associations in Lagos are with us.

“We are also creating awareness for people to get their PVCs, which is the right they have as citizens of this nation to vote in Atiku.

“We want to welcome him in a grand style. I believe, this is the welcome that would welcome other things that we are looking for.  We want to appreciate him for what he has done.  We want to look at him and say this is the man that will deliver Nigeria.”

He therefore appealed to the people of Lagos to have foresight and understand that restructuring affects every Nigerian.

Enwereuzo disclosed that his group was working in synergy with the PDP in Lagos for the success of Atiku’s visit.

He said he had been holding meetings, even at ward levels for the purpose.
