Perturbed by the lingering leadership crisis in the Anambra state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, the party’s Candidate in Aguata 1 Constituency in the 2018 State House of Assembly election, Earnest Okechukwu Ezenwa Esq, has encouraged the PDP members at the ward level to be steadfast in their support and loyalty for the party, and admonished the leadership of the party to built capacity and cohesion for PDP to create the desired impact in the 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra state.
Welcoming the Peoples Democratic Party Aguata Local Government Area chapter Executive members, led by the chairman Nnanelugo Sunny Umenne to Achina ward 1, during their meet-the-people tour in the 20 ward in the LGA, Barrister Ezenwa expressed great displeasure on the factions and fractions inherent in the Anambra state PDP which played out in all the LGA and ward levels in the past election. He noticed, and prophesied it will the bane of the party winning the gubernatorial election come 2021, if not adequately addressed.
”May i welcomed the visiting Local Government Executive of our great party to Achina ward 1, I pray the Almighty God to give you the strength to do justice at all time, because PDP needs serious cohesion to stabilize before going into the 2021 gubernatorial election”.
He lauded members of Achina ward 1 for been faithful and loyal to party despite the challenges the party was passing through in the ward.
”I congratulate all members of PDP Achina ward 1, for keeping the PDP flag flying. Do not rest on your oars. we must consolidate on the successes achieved in the last election.
Achina was one of the few towns; if not the only town, where PDP won in all the wards in our LGA. This you achieved against all odds in the midst of all manner of opposition and blackmail.
Achina is a volatile political environment for PDP, as APGA is well entrenched in the town for the past 16 years, and we know presently that Aguata LGA Chairman of APGA is from Achina yet you able to deliver” he averred.
The Candidate of PDP in the 2018 House Assembly election poured encomium to the PDP Achina wards 1&2 for practically displayed party loyalty spirit in all the immediate past elections in the state, he enjoined them to maintain the tempo.
“PDP had never won election in Achina but you made it happen during the last election, when we won Presidential, Senatorial, Federal House and State House of Assemblies elections. If other wards delivered as you did , PDP will not be in cold as it is in Aguata today.
I implore you to remain loyal party men and women, and abhor all forms of anti party activities. Some may have engaged in it, time past and went Scott free, but their integrity and reputation are in Tarters today. Remain unrepentantly PDP, and on the day of reckoning you will be rewarded accordingly.
Let us grow the party membership in our ward to guarantee 90% of the votes from Achina two wards.
Do not sale PDP or your brother to our political enemies, because if you do that you loose your brother’s trust, and the buyer will not trust you either.” Barr. Ezenwa Concluded.
