WARRI- The Ogbe-Ijoh community in Warri South West Local Government area of Delta State which are in a protracted bloody boundary adjustment crisis with her neighbouring Aladja community has raised an alleged eminent hired military attack by the Aladja community few days ahead.
The Ogbe-Ijoh community raised the alarm in an electronic mail to Daily Watch signed by the National Co-ordinator, Niger Delta Scholars and prominent leader of the Ogbe-Ijoh community, Chief Monday Keme on Wednesday, said ‘‘Once again, we bring to the notice of Government and the public of another planned and to be well coordinated attack on Ogbe-Ijoh by Aladja community to be supervised by military personnel under the pretence of providing security and the action is to be executed from now till the end of February 2018.
‘‘Intelligence report indicates that Aladja Community as concluded plan to attack Ogbe-Ijoh with hired assailants to be supervised by some military personnel stationed in Aladja to maintain peace. We recall that 22 years ago, Ogbe-Ijoh was completely burnt down by military personnel posted to Aladja to maintain peace during the 1995/1996 crises.
‘‘In furtherance to this plan, about 300 assailants has been assembled with suppprt from the Udu Council Chairman to launch attack on Ogbe-Ijoh. The community was under attack on Sunday the 11th through Friday the 16th February 2018 where scores of persons were injured and still receiving treatment in hospital. We therefore call on the Military high command to caution their personnel to maintain peace as well as parents to call their children to order. Since 1996, we have exercised maximum restrain and remain committed to this course.’’ He revealed.
