Immediate past National President of Ijaw youths Council ( Worldwide) Barr. Eric Omare has said that the resignation of minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio would give Niger Deltans fresh breathe of air in NDDC, saying that the minister was suffocating the people of Niger Deltans from enjoying his ministry and NDDC.

Barr. Omare who was reacting to the resignation of Senator Godswill Akpabio over his presidential ambition in a phone conversation with Daily Watch.

According Omare” We in Niger Delta are happy that Senator Godswill Akpabio has left Niger Detla Affairs Ministry. This is a sign of good omen to the people of Niger Delta. This man was suffocating the region by holding Niger Delta Development Commission hostage by pilfering the resources of the commission through interim reckless appointments of the board of the commission as well as chairmen against the provisions of the act that established the commission.

“Despite all our outcries against this injustice, the Buhari led  administration formed a deaf ear while allowing Akpabio to have his way.  That Buhari could not do anything to Senator Godswill Akpabio of this impunity displayed with widely reported cases of financial missapropriation. This act of Mr. President non- charllant attitude over Akpabio’s repulsive behaviour calls  alot of questions. For Akpabio,  all I say is Niger Delta people wish him well in his presidential ambition”.

He called on Mr. President to immediately constitute a substantive board with the chairman who understands the region and also feels the pains of the people of Niger Delta region.
