YENAGOA- A prominent People Democratic party (PDP) leader in Bayelsa state High Chief Oxborn Marcus has appealed to the governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Dickson Seriake to complete Akenfa-Epie bridge to help free movement of the people and commercial activities in the area.
Chief Marcus made this known on behalf of the community in an interview with Daily Watch reporter in Yenagoa, said ‘‘The people of Akenfa-Epie, give their full support to the PDP government in Bayelsa State and Chief Seriake Dickson restoration government. We are very happy that the Bayelsa state government commenced the construction of the bridge project. We are committed towards the restoration government. This bridge project is reward for the Akenfa-Epie people for supporting the PDP administration and the Seriake Dickson restoration government.’’ He noted
High Chief Oxborn Marcus also expressed confidence in the Seriake led administration. He commended and appreciated the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson and the members of the House of Assembly for embarking on this laudable project for the Akenfa-Epie community.
He also thanked the Yenagoa Local Government Chairman Hon. Oforji Abonsiezebe Obogu for supporting Aken-Epie communities and members of the Bayelsa state house of assembly for their for their robust representation.
The site manager of the bridge project Mr. Dealyn Josiah told Daily Watch the restoration government has done so much to the people of Akenfa and Yenagoa as whole. He expressed confidence and hope that the Chief Seriake Dickson led administration will complete the project.
According to him, ‘’Akenfa is an oil producing community so its needful for any government focus attention on the people to enable them benefit from social amenities. We are the largest and the highest oil producing community in Yenagoa, therefore, we want the government of Bayelsa State to give us their full attention focus and continue to do more good works for us”
