The President of Akpan Andem Markets Traders Association, Mr. Uduak Silas has warm Citizens without face masks would not have access to transact business in the market.
He gave the warning while speaking with Journalists in Uyo over Government directive of no face masks no entrance to the market.
The President said the directives Government gave was not to witch-hunt any Citizens rather to save lives while let the Citizens understand without face masks no access to enter the market” we are strictly on Government directives not to experience contact and spreading of Covid -19 across the market which is not a welcome development would be disastrous in recording more Covid -19 cases in the State which Government is trying to avoid on her Citizens.
According to him, they have put in place special task force across the market gates to checkmate the traders and especially customers that want to buy goods in the market would also be directed to create social distance before transacting business in the market while going out would wash their hands with running water for their own safety.
“We have take advantage of the Government directives going round the market informs the traders and Citizens about the important of the face masks failure to comply would show the way out without compromise”.
He believe Citizens would embrace the directives not to be embarrass by the task force carryout their legitimate function to avoid contact of the virus while transacting their business in the market.
The President commended the Government for the early information given to them as they would not fail to play their own part to make sure Citizens comply with the directives without any embarrassment and properly guided to have access to the market.
