The chairman of Akwa Ibom State internal revenue service, (AKIRS) Mr Okon Okon said they are targeting a whooping 43.8 billion for 2022 as internal generated revenue for the state.
The chairman Mr Okon Okon made the disclosure in his opening address during the 2022 “strategy session of the board in Uyo.
The AKIRS boss said despite challenges they would not relent over their responsibilities to met up their strategy and target while he commended the Governor for encouraging their hard work for the state to continue experience massive development.
He note that for 2022 the board plain to focus on data analysis, digital capability, building, new streams, maritime oil and gas, re-structuring to improve efficiency.
Mr Okon explained that the total internal generated revenue in the state for the year 2021 could not be release for the public as usual collation of state wide internal generated revenue figure for fourth quarter 2021 was yet to be completed.
He commended the board and management staff for their diligent job to improve the internal generated revenue of the state. He said they would not fail the people as they have been called to safe and always confident on them.
