*Hundreds missing and several others now refugees
*Military seem nowhere to be found as more attack imminent.
BENUE Just when the People of Benue thought the Military Presence would herald a new dawn the reverse seem to be the case as the herdsmen continue to hit hard on the people of the state with the so called Operation Cat Race team no where to be fond as herdsmen strike three times within one Week in Benue state communities.
Daily Watch Investigations confirmed that the herdsmen who this time turn their attack on to Omosu Community did so in the usual grand entry style of shooting, shouting, burning, looting and killing everything moving in sight.
The herdsmen who were at Mbataho Island about three days ago, landed at Sumaka and Surrounding communities (2days after) Saturday night and finally entered Omosu Community in Ojigo Ward Edumoga of Okpwe Local Government Area of Benue State yesterday Monday.
According to an eye witness Sammy Ochei ‘’The herdsmen who are all decked in black and shouting Allah Akbar stormed our community shooting and burning houses and telling us all in Hausa Language that we shall all be killed one after the other until our land would be taken over even in the face of the Military presence”.
Daily Watch spoke to the local government Chairman of the local Government Area Mr. Francis Ejembi who confirmed the attack of his people by gun wielding herdsmen who in a movie like manner not only looted and burn houses but killed several of his people in the gruesome attack.
According to him ‘We are moving corpses and the many injured to the hospital as you are talking with me and so far we have moved well over ten corpses and several injured to the Saint Mary’s Hospital Okponga where you can as well go to confirm what I am telling you’’
Attempts to reach out to the State police PRO Mr.Moses Yamu was not possible as at the time of going to press, the same for the Military coordinator of the operation Cat Race whose lines were not answered.
