4 days to election: IG deploys hatchet man Bode as new Delta CP

Barely four days to presidential election, Saturday16th January, 2019 Delta State new Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke Bode has promised to build on the existing security mechanism to ensure peace of the state.

Mr. Bode took over from DIG Anthony Ogbizi Michael who was redeployed to Force Headquarters having been elevated from the rank of Commissioner to Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG.

In a statement made available to our correspondent in asaba by the Command Acting spokeman, ASP Chuks Oriseweizie, CP Bode is well read, holds various degrees in diverse disciplines. B.A (ED), LLB, MBA.

The statement added that, he had served in various formations and Commands, until his recent posting to Delta State Command, he was the Force Quarter Master, Force Headquarters Abuja.

Bode, however, advised members of the public to always cooperate with the Police and other security agencies at all times by availing them with the vital necessary information that could help nip every crime in the bud.

While handing over to new CP, outgoing DIG Anthony Ogbizi Michael thanked the State Government and the people of Delta State for their cooperation with him and urged them to extend same to his successor.


He is married to Mrs. Bola Adeleke and blessed with three children. He love sports, reading and travelling and attended various courses both Local and International.

He was born May13, 1965, and enlisted into the force as ASP Cadet on March 3, 1990.
