A frontline aspirant for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, election for Ekeremor Constituency two, Ebikebina Okorotie, has asked his teeming supporters to discard rumour of his withdrawal from the House of Assembly race, describing the rumor as the handiwork of mischief makers and desperate politicians who do not mean well for the people.
In a statement made available to the newsmen at the weekend, Okorotie said if he was not passionate about the upliftment of his people he wont have joined the race.
According to him, the Assembly will be a platform for him to contribute meaningfully to the society and positively in affecting the lives of the people of Ekeremor Constituency two.
“I have over time been with my people, especially in their trying times, I know their problems and I have the ability to relate with them and i can bring the government closer to provide solutions to these problems”
Those spreading this false rumor of my withdrawal from the race are either afraid of the enormous acceptability I enjoy from my people or doing so to score cheap political points”.
“Politics is about engagement and constructive conservations. The harmonization of all these conversations are supposed to be about the collective good of the people. I advice those spending time and resources spreading rumors to rather dissipate their energies on engaging the people who we are expected to serve, Okorotie said”.
On his chances to win the PDP Assembly primaries, Ebikebina said it is the hands of God, stating that power comes from God alone. Okorotie also seized the opportunity to appeal to the delegates and the leaders of the PDP in Ekeremor Constituency two, to field credible candidates that can win election for the party. “I consider myself as one of the aspirants with great potentials, that will give our party victory. Working with the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, I can assure you that if I am elected the candidate on May 7th 2022, PDP will reclaim the Ekeremor two House of Assembly seat”.
“Since I purchased my expression of interest and nomination forms, I have been actively engaging stakeholders and the delegates. The party is supreme, be rest assured that I will follow the process to a logical conclusion and abide by the outcome and final decision made by the party, after the primaries because I am a loyal party man. I have not withdrawn, I am in the race to win” Okorotie added.
